{"id":597,"date":"2020-07-03T09:26:44","date_gmt":"2020-07-03T07:26:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/myonlinetherapist.co.za\/?post_type=therapies&#038;p=597"},"modified":"2022-09-21T12:47:23","modified_gmt":"2022-09-21T10:47:23","slug":"counselling-through-play-therapy","status":"publish","type":"therapies","link":"https:\/\/myonlinetherapist.co.za\/therapies\/counselling-through-play-therapy\/","title":{"rendered":"Counselling Through Play"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p>Counsellors aim to empower children to understand themselves better and work through difficult emotions.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Ages: 4 years &#8211; 18 years<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>We can provide online therapy for your child if they are experiencing:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Difficulty <strong>adjusting to changes<\/strong> related to COVID-19: routine, wearing a mask, social distancing, etc.<\/li>\r\n<li><strong>Overwhelming emotions<\/strong> related to COVID-19: isolation, loneliness, boredom, etc.<\/li>\r\n<li><strong>Loss<\/strong> as a result of COVID-19: death of a loved one, loss of employment, etc.<\/li>\r\n<li><strong>Overwhelming<\/strong> <strong>emotions<\/strong> that make it difficult to participate in daily activities: sadness, frustration, excitement, etc.<\/li>\r\n<li><strong>Avoiding new and \u201cstressful\u201d situations<\/strong>: playing\/talking to others, or new skills, games, or schoolwork.<\/li>\r\n<li><strong>Acute trauma<\/strong>: abuse or being involved in an accident, house breaking, or hijacking.<\/li>\r\n<li><strong>Changes in their environment<\/strong>: moving house\/city, divorce, or death of someone they know.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Counsellors will assist in:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Helping parents understand their child\u2019s behaviour<\/li>\r\n<li>Addressing the emotional stressors in your\/your child\u2019s life<\/li>\r\n<li>Guiding and identifying options and strategies to address issues<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Rates are charged on the duration of sessions.
