What is Developmental Delays?

This is when a child is not reaching the expected developmental milestone within the expected time period.

Areas of development include physical  (e.g. crawling and walking) or language (e.g. making full sentences) or independence (e.g. toilet training) or social and emotional (playing with other children).

Every child is different and what is considered age-appropriate may differ depending on genetics and environment. Early support to help manage expectations and prevent worsening of conditions is key.
